USA Cycling is pleased to announce the Spring 2016 class of Collegiate Academic All-Stars! All collegiate cyclists face the challenge of balancing school while racing, and the Academic All-Star program seeks to recognize those that go above and beyond by achieving top grades in the classroom while also competing at USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships.

Local academic athletes recognized
Local students were named to the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference all-academic team. To qualify for First Team All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All players who were not voted to the first Team All-Academic were automatically qualified for the All-Academic Honor Roll.

Local Students and Fort Lewis College Cycling Team Reach #2 in the Nation!
Fort Lewis College was named the #2 USA Cycling Collegiate Division 1 team in the nation for its performance during the 2014-15 academic year. In the five disciplines of cycling, FLC placed 2nd in Track, 3rd in Mountain Biking, 2nd in Cyclocross, 4th in BMX, and 5th in Road.

Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.

Local students recognized for their work with AmeriCorps
Fort Lewis College students were recognized for their work with AmeriCorps to serve the community. AmeriCorps members serve in a non-profit or government site focusing on either education or capacity building projects. The member completes 450 to 900 hours in one area that gives back to the local community. Upon completion of service, a member receives an AmeriCorps Education Award between $1,468 - $2,775 depending on the level of their time commitment.

Students display works of art at Fort Lewis College's Graduating Seniors Art Majors Exhibition
Senior level Art & Design majors displayed their creations in DepARTing, an exhibition designed, curated, and installed by the students. The display was in the Main & Exit Galleries of the Art Building from April 18 - May 3, 2014. The works on display showed advanced projects in media ranging from graphic design to fine art and textiles.
